Burnout is one of the biggest psychosocial risks affecting businesses today. The pressures of a challenging business operating environment, the ongoing fallout from the pandemic combined with the general stresses of work and life are taking a significant toll on our mental health.

And it’s only getting worse. 66% of respondents to a 2022 AUT University study were found to be at either a high or severe risk of burnout.

Developed by leading wellbeing and burnout consultancy Revolutionaries of Wellbeing (ROW), this one-day intensive course allows participants to understand the drivers of burnout at an individual, organisational and systemic level, provides tools to help you prevent it at the source, and details what burnout and burnout recovery looks like.

Jointly facilitated by ROW founder Sarah McGuinness and ROW colleague Chris Hewitt, this workshop is packed with practical tools, evidence-based frameworks, and opportunities for group discussion. Sarah will also take participants behind the scenes with her personal experience of reaching a crisis point and then recovering from burnout. She’ll share some of the lessons she learned the hard way, and tips for supporting others going through similar challenges. Sarah’s story has been featured in media including Stuff and The Project.

Chris brings cross-industry experience and a health and safety lens to this leading business risk.

The workshop is grounded in psychology and designed to be engaging, interactive, and informative.

Module 4: Recovery

  • Understanding the body’s response to stress and burnout
  • The path back to normal
  • What can you do if you’re burning out?
  • What do you do when you think someone you know may be burning out?
